After 11 years in the banking sector, Neema Kamau took a career break in 2013, to exhale, spend more time with her children and rediscover herself. One of her biggest challenges at the time was finding a diverse range of affordable children’s storybooks, games and learning resources. This led her to create Elimubox, a community where you have access to affordable books, a range of games and puzzles
A user centered design approach is chosen to think from a user perspective. Along with that, what the brand needs are considered during each phase

Research was done to understand the goal, desires and pain of users that are interested in buying books. Also understand the brand and their business goals.
Through a series of discovery calls with Neema, I got to understand her vision, her target audience and what she wanted achieved on her website. This helped me ideate better as I worked on a solution for her brand

After several meetings both internally and with Neema, I was able to understand the user frustrations, user motivation and the user journey

Building design systems ensures uniformity and and also fasten the design process
We decided to use wordpress instead of shopify. WordPress is a dynamic and easy CMS. This gave Neema an option of blogging, adding YouTube videos and even events.
We used woocommerce for the e-commerce part of the shop and for payment integration we used PesaPal
